Data and your choices
Privacy policy
Last updated:
VOD Ferry is an operator-run personal tool for copying creator-authorized Twitch past broadcasts to an agreed Google Drive folder.
This policy covers that transfer tool and this information website. It does not describe Twitch’s, Google’s, or the hosting provider’s separate services.
What the tool accesses and why
- Twitch recordings and transfer metadata. The tool obtains the authorized recording and information needed to identify and check it, such as channel and video identifiers, publication time, duration, and readiness. Where access requires it, an operator-supplied Twitch credential is used.
- Google Drive destination information. Setup checks the destination folder and whether the authorized account can add files. Transfers read file identifiers, names, sizes, and checksums in the configured folder to check uploads and avoid silently treating a conflict as success.
- Google authorization credentials. OAuth access and refresh tokens let the operator-run tool access Drive and continue authorized transfers without asking for sign-in on every run. VOD Ferry does not ask for your Google password.
The data is used to carry out the agreed transfers, verify copies, record status, and investigate failed or uncertain transfers. Creator recordings are not used for research, AI training, advertising, or profiling.
The Google permission is broader than the task
The current authorization uses the full Google Drive scope. That grant technically permits access beyond the agreed folder, including reading, creating, changing, and deleting Drive files allowed by the account’s permissions.
VOD Ferry’s configured transfer program uses the intended destination folder, creates new recording files, and reads metadata to verify them. It does not change folder sharing or delete Drive files. The folder boundary is a program and configuration restriction, not a restriction enforced by the OAuth grant.
Where data stays
Recordings pass through temporary staging on the operator’s virtual server. After a remote copy has been verified, the program removes the unchanged local recording. Failed downloads, partial files, uncertain transfers, or files that no longer match their recorded checks may remain held for operator review; there is no fixed automatic deletion deadline for those held files.
Credentials are kept in access-restricted files used by the operator-run process. Configuration and transfer records retain information such as the selected channel and destination, video and Drive file identifiers, timestamps, sizes, checksums, and transfer status. These records support transfer checks and recovery and do not currently have automatic expiry.
Copies uploaded to Google Drive remain there until the owner or another person with the necessary permission removes them. Twitch expiry, stopping the worker, or revoking authorization does not automatically remove those copies.
Who can access the data
The operator administers the transfer process and can access its credentials, staged files, and records. Twitch supplies the source material; the server’s hosting provider processes the staged data as part of hosting; Google processes the destination files as part of Drive.
Uploaded files are subject to the destination folder’s existing sharing permissions. Anyone who already has access through that sharing may be able to access the copies. VOD Ferry does not make a public recording library or change sharing settings. Recordings and Google user data are not sold or shared for advertising.
Stopping access and requesting removal
You can remove VOD Ferry’s connection in your Google Account’s third-party app permissions to stop future authorized Google access. Revocation does not automatically delete recordings already copied to Drive, staged files, or retained transfer records.
Contact the operator to stop future archiving or request review or removal of staged files, credentials, and transfer records. A Drive owner can remove stored copies using Drive’s own controls. Use your existing operator contact or the support email shown on the Google consent screen; this website has no contact form.
Visiting this website
These pages use no JavaScript, analytics trackers, forms, embedded media, remote fonts, or cookies. They do not expose recordings, account credentials, or destination details.
Loading a page still sends ordinary network requests to the hosting service, including your IP address and request information. The hosting infrastructure may process or retain operational and security logs. A static page is not a promise of anonymous access or zero logging.
Changes to this policy
This page will be updated if the tool’s data practices change. The date above identifies the current policy. Participants can ask the operator to explain a change before continuing with the arrangement.
